Celebrity Auction Habits: What Money Cannot Buy

Who could resist those dazzling photographs of celebrities with their signatures affixed on the surface? Most movie fanatics would definitely consider this chance of getting an almost personalized item from their favorite celebrities.

Thankfully, there are celebrity auctions that are readily available to provide these things. Not only that, with celebrity auctions, fans and supporters can buy their idol’s used clothing and other items associated with their favorite stars.

What people do not realize is that not only do the fans benefit, but the proceeds of these auctions usually go to a charity.

Celebrity auctions primarily operate for a cause. And true enough, most of these celebrity auctions were able to help those who are in dire need of help. In fact, Yahoo! Auctions alone was able to accumulate $80,000. That would mean a lot of money for those who can benefit from it.

The organizers of celebrity auctions only have one goal: They want to extend some help to the needy by simply asking these celebrities to donate any of their items that can be appraised and bid at a higher value.

Hence, with the growing popularity of these celebrity auctions, more and more celebrities are also happy to donate their most priced possessions in order to provide the appropriate things that the poor and the underprivileged need.

Among the many items that are being sold at celebrity auctions, the photographs are the most common and in-demand items. With signatures that were written on its façade, the item tends to appear as if it was personalized, thus, creating a value for the movie fans or celebrity admirers.

The value that these photographs of the different celebrities bring is absolutely affordable and can be obtained by anyone who is willing to pay for it. For instance, Brad Pitt’s autographed picture was being sold at a celebrity auction with a minimum bid of $196.

Usually, pictures are relatively higher in demand than the other items because anybody will be able to see him in as much as you can. However, celebrity auctions do not just sell photographs. In fact, there are so many items that are being donated by the celebrity. And most of these items are actually reaping higher bids and are eventually being sold at higher prices.

For example, Leonardo Di Caprio was able to sell his autographed “Levi’s jeans” in a celebrity auction in Japan for almost $22,700 .

In the United States, Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine costumes that he used during the shooting of the X-Men movie was sold at a whopping $19,240, topping the chart for the items that were sold at celebrity auctions.

Next in line is David Letterman’s “vintage jacket” that was sold for more than $8,000. Third in rank was Britney Spears’ “custom-designed” pair of pants sold more than $7,000.

Mariah Carey was also able to donate her Levi’s 501blue jeans, which was auctioned at $3,030, while Antonio Bandera’s blue jeans from GAP were sold at $1,572.

These are just a few of the many celebrities and celebrity items that were auctioned, bided, and bought at celebrity auctions.

With all of these huge amounts being paid, everyone benefits from celebrity auctions. The winning bidder gets the goods and a good feeling because what he pays goes to a good cause. The charity wins because it gets the money. The other bidders feel good because without their bids the charity would not have received as much. The celebrity feels good because without him there would be no auction and no money for the charity.
